I get that you don't like the joke, but that was the joke in the first place. ; Due to the nature of the series, this happens in Attack on Titan a lot. A bittersweet happy ending, but very heartwarming. They walk through a nice park with green trees and the devil shows him a huge palace. The Last MAN on Earth follows Leonard Smallwood who is so average that his first name becomes a synonym for mediocre. The devil welcomes him and says:"Let me show you around a little bit."
